Green & Blue Infrastructure
On Thursday 27 June, Hannah went along with Datchet Neighbourhood Plan to a workshop on green and blue infrastructure held by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM). Simply put, green and blue infrastructure is all about how we can best manage our greenspaces (trees, fields, verges) and our water sources.

They were gathering feedback from local groups that would later inform their Local Borough Plan.

Hannah is planning to submit a separate response from Wild About Datchet to the Borough outlining how they can best plan green and blue infrastructure in the future to deliver a healthy environment for wildlife and people.

We are now part of RBWM Climate Emergency Coalition

In June, RBWM councillors voted unanimously to declare a climate emergency. It's a great step that has helped RBWM councillors to seriously think about what needs to happen to meet the government's target of zero net emissions by 2050. Because biodiversity and climate are so interlinked, Wild About Datchet has now joined the RBWM Climate Emergency Coalition (CEC), along with our neighbours in Wild Maidenhead.
